I'm Marin Yordanov, an independent black and grey realism tattoo artist working centrally in Cologne – and everything with me runs in English: the first message, the consultation, the design discussion and the aftercare advice. I spent more than 10 years tattooing, many of them in London, where I worked with clients from all over the world. That's why working with expats, international students, business travellers and tourists in Cologne feels completely natural to me. TATTOOING FOR EXPATS IN COLOGNE
Moving to a new country means figuring out a lot of things in a language you may still be learning. Getting a tattoo shouldn't be one of them. Many expats in Cologne want a big, meaningful piece – a portrait of family, a pet, a symbol of home, or a sleeve that has been on their list for years – and they want to be sure every detail of the plan is understood. With me, you can talk through meaning, placement and design changes in English, at your own pace.
TATTOOS FOR VISITORS AND TRAVELLERS
If you're in Cologne for a trip, a trade fair or a work assignment, a tattoo can be a lasting part of that time – as long as it's planned properly. For travellers, I recommend getting in touch well before you arrive, so we can agree on the design and the size that realistically fits into your stay. Large realism pieces usually need more than one session, so for short visits we'll pick a design that can be completed in the time you have, or start a bigger project you can return for. HOW BOOKING WORKS (IN ENGLISH)
1. Message me on WhatsApp or through the enquiry form with your idea, placement, approximate size, reference images and – if you're travelling – your dates in Cologne.
2. We talk it through in English. I'll tell you honestly what works, what size the design needs and roughly how many sessions to expect.
3. Quote and deposit. Pricing is per piece or per session; I give you a quote once the idea is clear and I can estimate the time. A deposit secures your date – see the deposit terms.
4. Consultation if needed. For more complex pieces, a short in-person consultation helps so I can take photos of the area and draw the design directly on the body. If you're only in town briefly, we'll do as much as possible remotely.
5. Tattoo day and aftercare. You'll get clear aftercare instructions in English.

HOW DO I LOOK AFTER A FRESH TATTOO WHILE TRAVELLING?
Keep it clean, wear loose clothing, avoid swimming, saunas and strong sun in the first days, and follow the aftercare instructions I give you.
I'M ONLY VISITING COLOGNE. CAN I STILL GET TATTOOED?
Often yes, if you contact me early. We'll choose a design and size that fits the time you have, or plan a larger piece over several visits.
HOW MUCH DOES A TATTOO COST?
It depends on size, placement, detail and time. I price per piece or per session and give a quote once the idea is clear.
CAN I SEND REFERENCE IMAGES?
Yes, always. They help me understand style, mood and direction – they don't have to match the final tattoo.
